Gum Disease Treatments

We believe that dental hygiene is the foundation of all dental health.

Science shows a strong link between gum disease and inflammatory conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, stroke, rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimer’s.

NON SURGICAL TREATMENTS Scaling and root planning including ultrasonic cleanings can be performed with or without local anesthetic. Removing the firm attached to the root calculus that causes damage, inflammation or infection in the gum tissues is done in a gentle and thorough way.  If needed, we have a special numbing gel that can be used to make your gums less sensitive during treatment.

SURGICAL GUM DISEASE TREATMENTS Pocket reduction procedures done by our experienced periodontist might be recommended when pockets are too deep to clean with daily home care and professional routine cleanings. Soft tissue grafting procedures are available to relief sensitivity caused by root exposure, repair receding gums and prevent further recession.

These procedures can reverse some of the damage by regenerating lost bone and tissue. We also offer specialist treatment for gingival recession. Your gums may have receded for a variety of reasons, including aggressive tooth brushing or periodontal disease.
