Last Update: November 16 2021
Dear Patients,
Our COVID-19 expanded protocols include:
- Our patients are prescreened according to the last guidelines enforced by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons and the Public Health Department. All patients and staff will have their temperature taken with an infrared contact free thermometer. We are also taking a pulse oximeter reading. A painless device placed on the finger measures your heart rate and blood oxygen level, a helpful information during the coronavirus pandemic.
- The staff will sterilize all surfaces a patient or staff comes in contact with. Changes in the workplace, like installing plexiglass barriers, staggering shift times, and all Public Health/RCDSO safety guidelines necessary for a safe reopening have been made. The number of people in the waiting room will be limited to a safe number to ensure physical distancing. Patients will enter for their appointment alone, children accompanied only by one parent. The entrance door will remain locked for now, we see patients by appointment only. When you have arrived, please call the office and someone will let you in. At this time, we don’t accept walk-ins. Please call or email to book an appointment.
- Our staff members are prescreened daily and they don’t come to work if they have symptoms. Our clinical team will wear masks and protective eyewear at all time. Most of our staff has been vaccinated.
- Hand washing/sanitizing is mandatory to all patients. All patients will rinse with 1% hydrogen peroxide prior to any examinations.
- For aerosol generating procedures, all staff is equipped with PPE. Our treatment rooms are equipped with ionizers, HEPA and UV-C filters.
- Our high-speed suction equipment, nitrile rubber dams and other vacuum systems provide a barrier between the patient and staff, capturing and filtering saliva, droplets, and particles resulting from the dental procedure. The protocols and safety precautions we are taking will also maximize your protection against other harmful viruses and bacterial infections. These include hepatitis, HIV, the flu, measles, mumps, rubella, and colds.
So please know that coming to our office is safe. If you have any questions please contact us at: info@oakvillenorthdentistry.com, or call us at (289) 725-0000
